Hokkaido Marathon 2013
The Hokkaido Marathon held in Sapporo, the largest city on the island of Hokkaido, Japan. Held since 1987, it is one of the prominent marathon races of the year and is one of Japan's very few mass marathons open to both sexes.
The Hokkaido Marathon features a marathon race with approximately 12,000 participants with an 11.5KM fun run with approximately 3,000 participants of both genders. The course is relatively easy one to run, featuring mostly flat ground with rolling hills.
The staging area as well as the start line is on the east side of Nakjima Park while the finish lines is at the Nishi-8-chrome in Odori Park. The course is sanctioned by both the Japan Association of Athletics Federations (JAAF) and AIMS, meaning it is eligible for world record performances.
This year's event is held on the 25th August 2013.
