Golf courses are popular destinations for those who enjoy the luxury sports, but that does not mean that most of the middle-class population in Singapore would not be able to venture to a golf course. The Orchid Country Club and the Nee Soon GRC Grassroots Organization has collaborated on an event known as the Nee Soon Fiesta 3Ten which aims to engage families and non-golfers via running as well as more family-inclusive activities.
Partnered with RUN Singapore, the run will be held on 29th July 2017 and features three distinct categories: The 10km competitive Individual Open; the 5km Fun Run; and the 1.5km Family Run, meant more for families to relax and go at the pace of their slowest runner.
The top three of the 10km Competitive Individual Open races for both men and women will be presented with a winning trophy each and prizes worth up to $500.
Parents can also take the opportunity to enter the race with their young children on strollers, and they can form a team of two or more if they enter the 1.5km Family Run.
The northern district of Yishun will be lit up with the many honorary guests that will be there to flag off the events, such as Minister of Home Affairs and Minister of Law K Shanmugam, Parliamentary Secretary Associate Professor Muhammad Faishal Ibrahim, Dr Lee Bee Wah, Kwek Hian Chuan Henry, and Louis Ng Kwok Kwang.
Registration and sales of the races can be found at the RUN Shop for all categories.
