Moisturize Me!

We review and look for skin products that are fit for the sportsperson on the go.

At some point in life, some of us start obsessing over our skin health.

This can be due to many reasons:

1) We have an obsession over looking young because of how much we aspire to be like the influencers we see on social media, who appear forever youthful and cherubic.

2) We get panicky over the fact that the ozone layer is disappearing and causing more sun rays to heat up the earth, which means higher temperatures, higher heat, more sweating and clogged pores, wrinkles, and a higher risk of skin cancer.

3) Society pressures successful, hardworking people to look a certain way, otherwise you would be considered irresponsible.

It can’t hurt to look after the largest organ of your body, and it’s going to be with you for a very long time, so when you find products that work, you stay with them.

When we were sent two face products that were touted to be great for the avid on the go sporty person, we figured that it wouldn’t hurt to try. That’s why we were interested in the Essano Rosehip Gentle Cleansing Facial Wipes as well as the Primal Earth Natural Active SPF 15 Moisturizer.

Essano Rosehip Gentle Cleansing Facial Wipes

I’m a fan of Essano’s Shampoo and Conditioning set with Coconut Milk, which is known to hydrate and nourish the hair without any sulphates or parabens. Also, it helped that it smelt like coconut milk, which always seems to lift the mood.

So I was expecting the same sort of standard for the Essano Rosehip Gentle Cleansing Facial Wipes. I was not disappointed.

These wipes come in the same packaging that Essano is known for, a rather sweet, blush pink. The wipes are soaked in a formula that contains Rosehip Oil, Aloe Vera and Green Tea, and in each packet, you get 20 wipes. They promise to wipe off oil, makeup, and dirt without rinsing, and also claims to provide essential hydration for the face.

When opened, the scent is a relaxing rose scent, which to me smells a little more like a gentle version of rose syrup scent, and the wipes are thoroughly covered in the formula without making me feel like it was drenched and excessive.

It got rid of my makeup quite a bit, and left my face feeling light, fresh and feeling unclogged, which is great if you are looking for a clean wipe for your face after a hard run. It helped when I felt too exhausted to wash my face and wanted to nap for a bit after a hard day’s work and my skin did indeed feel healthier in the morning.

Primal Earth Natural Active SPF 15 Moisturizer

Beauty trends recommend that you should consider moisturizing your face twice a day, wearing a light one with SPF in the day, and a heavier one for night time use.

I already have a heavier one for my face at night, but I could go for a lighter one that has sun protection coverage, which is why I was ecstatic when I came across Primal Earth.

The moisturizer is made from plants that are known to be skin-conditioning, such as Aloe Vera, Green Tea, and calming Harakeke, and formulated to hydrate, smooth and protective sensitive skin, shielding the skin from harmful UVA and UVB rays.

This moisturizer comes out of an easy to squeeze green tube and applies light on the skin, and doesn’t feel heavy when worn throughout the day. I use it as a base for my makeup before I add my foundation, and after using it for 10 days, I am pleasantly surprised. The skin texture on my face seems smoother, and I don’t feel dry at all. At the same time, I don’t feel greasy or oily wearing the moisturizer, which can irritate some people when they want to look dewy instead of sweating uncomfortably.

Both these products are great for the skin, and if used every day can help improve the texture and condition of your face. It would work for the sporty person on the go looking for something quick and naturally good to apply on yourself after a workout.
