The local clubber’s foundation years starts with the first half-hearted shuffles at Zouk. At 25 years of age, the place is still a popular night spot for young kids looking for a good time as well as a place to chill for the mature generation.

The Zouk that we all know at Jiak Kim Street will be moving to Clarke Quay at the end of this year. As part of the final celebrations at the current premises, Zouk has decided to organise an event to bring it all together, starting with a short 3km run that will end at the party central itself.

Touted as a leisure run, the Zouk Run is meant to capture the essence of Zouk’s unique party experience and celebrate the memories the Jiak Kim location has provided its patrons for many years.

Organisers will be bringing the runners through a route dotted with what they call Zouk Key Experiences, which they have teased will have many surprises for the participants.

Because it isn’t a competitive run, the run will be themed into four categories, creatively titled Podium Queen, Mambo King, The Shuffler and The Musichead.

The categories represent the different people you might see on the dance floor. The runners will be entitled to race packs of their corresponding themes, including a specially designed T-shirt and a special party prop you can wear during the race and in the after party.

The run is open to anyone 16 and above, and this will also include entry to the Velvet Underground for the registered participants afterwards. Participants aged 18 and above have access to all the dance rooms in Zouk.

Registration is standardized at $48.00 for person, and Citibank card members will stand to receive a 10% discount by entering the first six digits of their credit card number in the Promo Code field.

The Race pack collection will be at the Red Tail Bar at 3C River Valley Road, #01-04, on the 29th and 30th of October, from 11am-5pm.
