Immerse yourself in a tropical fast course like no other. Laguna Phuket Marathon launches its 19th edition race on the shores of Phuket.

A race that has ran its course for almost 2 decades, welcomes its 19th edition on 14th and 15th June 2025 this year blending fitness, fun and philanthropy in one vibrant weekend. Since its inception in 2006, the Laguna Phuket Marathon has become one of Thailand’s most popular and highly-regarded running event attracting runners from all over the world. Known for its scenic course on the beautiful island of Phuket, this prestigious event is also a sanction IAAF AIM (Association of International Marathons and Distance Races) race that attracts both recreational and elite athletes alike. For many years, the Laguna Phuket Marathon has also been positioned as a qualifying event for the Boston Marathon.

Hosted in Laguna Grove the event present itself in two unique race experiences mainly the “Run Sunset & Run Sunrise” format. For those seeking for a fun and friendly race distance, you can join in the fun for the Sunset races on Saturday, 14th June for the 5km and 10km races or bring your little ones for delightful 2km kids run. Enjoy a breathtaking sunset views, charming local villages, and beach paths as you run along one of the most stunning locations in Phuket.

The Sunrise races on 15th June includes the full and the half marathon, and it promises an unparallel experience like no other.  Set against the gorgeous backdrop of the Phuket’s lush greenery tropical forest, runners get to race along pineapple and rubber plantations, quaint local villages, cultural landmarks and cross the finish line at the infamous Laguna Phuket. Immerse yourself in the sights and sound of local community as you run along the course. If you are lucky, you could catch a glimpse of monks out on their morning walk to the temples, hawkers setting up their roadside stalls where you get a whiff of barbeque meat or piquant soup. A sensory running experience like no other.

The 2025 edition of the race promises yet again an exhilarating and fun weekend. While its all fun and smiles, the event also deepens its focus on sustainability, community engagement and inclusivity where it introduces new race categories for runners aged 70 and above. It also continues to uphold its race ethos and tradition, supporting local charities through the Laguna Phuket Foundation and Children First Fund.
