Hyperdrives Primed for the Star Wars Run

The only event of its kind in the world, the Star Wars Run is more than just a running event. Star Wars fans have come to appreciate this occasion as a celebration of the massive, dedicated fandom that the series generates.

Happening on 5^th May 2018 at the F1 Pit Building, this year’s run will feature a 10km competitive segment, a 5.4km non-competitive run, and a 540m Young Jedi Dash. If you’re wondering about the significance of the number 54, it’s a play on May the 4^th, which is a play on phrase ‘May the Force be with you’ from the Star Wars movies. The date has been recognised officially recognised as Star Wars Day worldwide since 2011.

Expect an electrifying atmosphere complete with Star Wars memorabilia displays, artwork, and costumed actors on location. It’s been reported that sales of Star Wars themed sports apparel shot up in the lead-up to last year’s event as enthusiasts geared up to attend, so if you plan to go and run in theme, it’s best to start preparing early this year!

Participants are also entitled to a series of exclusive merchandise items including shirts, tote bags picnic mats decorated n the appropriate Dark or Light side of the Force imagery.
