The eagerly anticipated MetaSprint Series returns this year for its 17th edition, with the action kicking off at Sentosa on 28 Jan with the aquathlon. The race day thrills continue on 17 March at the F1 Village with the duathlon. And finally on 5 May, witness triathletes of all ages swim, bike, and run their way to the finish line at East Coast Park.
New this year is the introduction of the ‘fast’ wave – a 5am race start time for the duathlon and triathlon races. Muslim participants observing Ramadan will have ample time to get ready on race day thanks to this initiative.
Participants can also look forward to a smoother race experience with the return of the rolling start in the swim leg. Grouped according to their estimated race times, athletes will enter the water in waves, ensuring a more organised start.
To foster healthy competition among the athletes, MetaSport has introduced Age Category Waves. Athletes in the Sprint and Sprint Relay will start their race in waves alongside fellow participants in their age category, adding toe the excitement.
Witness more of that thrilling sporting rivalry up close in the Inter-School Challenge, where youths from different schools will pit their athleticism against each other.
Whether you’re a first-timer or seasoned triathlete, the MetaSprint Series is open to young and old with a passion for running, cycling, and swimming. Its age categories welcome active tots as young as 4 to participants 16 and above.
If you’re preparing for the PTO Asian Open on 14 April, there’s no better warm-up for your race season. Be part of this spirited celebration of multisports as a participant or supporter – all are welcome!
