This is the last week that you can still sign up for the Columbia Jungle Run! A 5km trail and obstacle race for individuals and families, located in the usually-off-limits jungle ravine at Centaurs Sports Park in Turf City, this year will the third edition of the event, which has proved to be a big hit with families that enjoy some outdoor rough and tumble.
Situated at the former Bukit Timah racecourse, the race route winds along a jungle ravine peppered with natural and manmade obstacles, and is also home to a variety of native Singapore flora and fauna.
Often used by the Singapore Cycling Federation’s mountain biking programs, this trail circuit is unique in that it is within a very compact space, but also features plenty of terrain variations and safe obstacles. Still, expect to get down and dirty in the mud and water as you cross some of them!
Taking place on 6th October, the event will start at 7.30AM with runners set off in staggered waves to ease bottlenecks on natural trails, and to try give everyone a taste of the tranquil jungle.
Entry categories have been simplified after feedback from previous years. There is a new family group category, for up to eight family members to run together.
The Individual categories remain for those looking to compete, and the Fun Run category also survives into 2019 for runners who are new to trails, 5km runs or just want to take their time.
Entitlements include a 2019 design, Columbia Jungle Run running tee, participation medals, an eco-conscious tote bag with sponsor goodies, and a 30% discount voucher for Columbia products. Top three winners in categories will win prizes.
The course will feature all the favourites from years before and incorporate new obstacles, but these are being keep as a surprise and will be revealed on the day of the race.
Registration closes on 24 September 2019. Tickets are available on RUN Shop and more found can be found on the official Jungle Run website.
