After a five-year absence, The Music Run is making a triumphant return to Singapore. In partnership with the Professional Triathletes Organisation (PTO), the renowned running brand is set to deliver an exhilarating experience for runners as part of the inaugural PTO Asian Open weekend on 19-20 August 2023.
The iconic 5km fun run, known for its lively atmosphere, offers a distinct and immersive experience on the ‘Sound Track’ run course that features speakers pumping the participants’ favourite hits from start to finish. Set against the backdrop of Marina Bay, this immersive running event will be held alongside the high-profile PTO Asian Open 100km professional races and the two duathlons.
The inclusion of The Music Run in the action-packed programme will deliver an unparalleled combination of spectator sports event and mass participation experience. The Music Run is a prominent international running series, known for its widespread popularity across Asia including countries like Thailand and China. The previous edition held in Kuala Lumpur had an astounding participation of 17,000 runners.
“The Music Run has a proven track record of encouraging runners of all abilities to pull on their trainers and run around stunning city centre locations to the beat of their favourite tunes. We’re delighted to have The Music Run as part of our PTO Asian Open weekend as it makes its return to Singapore and gives everyone a great option to get involved in what will be a festival of multisport activity," explained PTO CEO Sam Renouf.
As part of the esteemed PTO Tour, a premier annual race series in the world of triathlon, the PTO Asian Open professional 100km races showcase a thrilling competition among the elite athletes across the globe. The event is set to be exciting, with the confirmation of Olympic champion and top-ranked triathlete, Kristian Blummenfelt, and Gustav Iden, in attendance to compete in this inaugural race.
Registration for The Music Run will open officialy on 1 June 2023, Thursday at 12:00pm, via their website. Runners who are keen to participate may pre-register their interest now.
